World Interfaith Harmony Week, celebrated every February, calls for global unity through mutual understanding and respect among people of different faiths. The 2025 theme, “Love of the Good” and “Love of the Neighbor,” highlights values that transcend religion, encouraging love and compassion as universal principles. CARITAS of the Diocese of Buea embodies this mission in its inclusive community projects, working with people from diverse backgrounds to foster interfaith harmony while spreading God’s love. Guided by Jesus’ words in Matthew 22:39, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” CARITAS inspires communities to embrace kindness and solidarity.
CARITAS not only offers support to those in need but also encourages them to share God’s love with their neighbors upon returning home. By urging people to live out the Golden Rule, “Do to others what you would have them do to you” (Matthew 7:12), their efforts create a ripple effect of compassion that strengthens relationships across cultural and religious lines. This approach reinforces the idea that small acts of love can transform the world into a better, more harmonious place.
As we commemorate World Interfaith Harmony Week, let us embrace the call to love and serve all people, regardless of their beliefs, and work together to build a more united world.
CARITAS, GOD’S LOVE.
