Nurturing Sustainable Development: 19th Edition of FADER Opens in Melong, Cameroon
Melong, Cameroon – February 1, 2024: Today marked the inauguration of the 19th Edition of the Forum of Actors for Rural Development (FADER) in Melong, Cameroon. The opening ceremony brought together a diverse group of organizations committed to fostering rural development and sustainable practices.
The highlight of the day was the commencement of a two-day workshop organized by Partners of MISEREOR Projects on Agro-Ecology in Cameroon. The workshop, taking place in the scenic Littoral region of Cameroon, aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences, dissemination of agro-ecological activities, and the exploration of networking strategies for rural development actors associated with FADER.
Representatives from various organizations engaged in rural development and agro-ecology projects participated in the workshop. Among the esteemed organizations present were CARITAS from the Diocese of Buea, Bafousasam, Nkongsamba, CEFAN of Foumban, and INADES Cameroun. Their collaborative efforts underscore the collective commitment to sustainable agricultural practices and rural development in the region.
Mr. Pierre Enerst Tchinda, the Coordinator for FADER, extended a warm welcome to all participants during the opening ceremony. In his address, he emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange and collaboration in achieving success during the workshop. Mr. Tchinda encouraged full participation, stressing the significance of sharing experiences and insights to enhance the impact of agro-ecological activities.
The workshop, a part of the broader FADER initiative, aligns with the mission of promoting sustainable development and fostering a network of engaged actors in rural areas. It provides a platform for participants to learn from one another, disseminate best practices, and strategize for effective rural development.
